I have used the ear clips for headaches. I have used the AS-Trode electrodes on both sides of my knee for restless legs. I fell in the bathtub on March, 2004 and hurt myself bad. My wife used the probes on the places that hurt so bad. I use the ear clips for relaxation and to help me go to sleep at night. If I have pain somewhere on my body I use the AS-Trodes on opposite sides of my body so that a straight line between the 2 will go through the location of the pain. I think this is a great machine.

I have been using the Alpha-Stim 100 for about 6 months now. I have a chronic pain condition due to two accidents one which caused a condition suspected as RSD or Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. MANY days the pain was unbearable and pain medication would not totally relieve it and is short lived. Also, pain medications can be addictive and have intense side effects especially in my case as I have allergies to many medications. I use a TENS unit, but that only helps pain temporarily, and when you turn it off the pain returns. Then I was introduced to the Alpha-Stim 100 by a new doctor I started seeing last year after another accident. I could not believe how fast and successfully it helped the pain compared to the TENS unit, electrical stimulation in physical therapy, ultra sound, and many of the other modalities I had tried which only gave some temporary relief. In comparison, the Alpha-Stim gave me ongoing relief which got more and more successful the more I used it. The long lasting effects were and continue to be very encouraging to me. A condition like RSD is very painful and very difficult to treat. Most other treatments I have tried either did not help at all or if they do it is only short term. However, the Alpha-Stim has helped, and to me anything that can help with such severe and chronic pain as successfully as the Alpha-Stim, is a hopeful and encouraging form of treatment. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers with pain especially chronic pain. Last, I just recently learned more valuable information on how to get the maximal and best use from my Alpha-Stim from a very kind and patient customer service rep for Alpha-Stim. The support is excellent and if you have questions on how to best use your Alpha-Stim, someone from the company who makes the product will gladly spend quality time with those in need of technical or general support. I am looking forward to using my Alpha-Stim more and more and believe the more time I can give to Alpha-Stim treatments, the more long lasting pain relief and healing I will get. If only spending small intervals of treatment time on my Alpha-Stim has helped me with significant relief, then I believe more use of my machine will even give greater results and am looking forward to updating this testimony with more positive results again. The difference of the Alpha-Stim compared to other modalities in my opinion is that the Alpha-Stim allows for a healing effect and will be long lasting as you continue treatment, where as the results I have received from other modalities and medication have been temporary and soon after such other modalities are stopped the pain returns.

Save money by buying the Alpha-Stim 100 and discontinuing your pain medications. I get hours of relief from the pain associated with my cervical stenosis and save quite a bit each month by eliminating co-payments for prescription drugs. Considering the high cost of pain killers, it won’t take long for this device to pay for itself. Alpha-Stim 100 reduces my pain more effectively than the medications and without drowsiness and other side effect. Based on my experience, I would recommend this unit to anyone who has pain, insomnia, depression and related problems. As a bonus, my wife has found that it relieves her fibromyalgia pain better than anything else she’s tried.

When we met you almost two years ago, our once vivacious Wheaten Terrier Webster was 12 years old, in declining health, and suffering from arthritis. Web was spending most of the time laying down rather than being active, as usual. He had trouble standing up – sometimes unable to do it on his own. He would happily greet visitors and go for car rides, then quickly lay down. He seemed depressed, maybe in pain. A year earlier, x-rays confirmed arthritis in his neck and back, and compressed discs in his neck. We considered pharmaceuticals to ease his arthritis but most warned of kidney side effects. With Wheatens prone to kidney disease, we chose not to use them. He had several bouts when the nerves pinched in his neck and for several days, he would lay motionless with his head on the floor, refusing to eat. Steroids and muscle relaxers helped. But these episodes were painful for him and agonizing for us to watch. The last time on steroids, his sweet personality changed and he became aggressive. Treating his symptoms with the pharmaceuticals wasn’t addressing the real problem, which seemed to be getting worse, so I began investigating holistic alternatives. Your name came up several times with high recommendations. At our first consultation, you spent a great deal of time analyzing x-rays, taking his history, asking lots of questions, and examining Web. I bought the Alpha-Stim SCS in August for leg pain (possibly caused by anxiety), mood enhancing and stress reduction. I just finished my first semester in law school, after using it for the recommended frequency and duration and I was much less stressed than most of my friends and just less stressed than I would have thought I would have been. I thought that my leg pain was reduced and my mood was generally better and calmer and I certainly cried over life's imperfections much less than I have in the past during the school year. So, while I think there can be many variables in reducing anxiety and improving happiness, I think that it was likely caused from using the Alpha Stim. In addition, I am a big proponent of natural, non-invasive therapies, rather than prescription drugs and I think that the Alpha Stim is a much better solution because I experienced virtually no side effects, as compared with dangerous anti-anxiety and anti-depressant drugs. All I experienced from the Alpha Stim was red dots on my ear lobes, which went away within a few hours and minor tingling/prickly feeling while using it sometimes, which only lasted a few minutes. So, I would much prefer to use this then take dangerous drugs.

I have fought a loosing battle for many years with fibromyalgia and anxiety/depression. The only thing that has offered any relief is prescription drugs which I have had to steadily increase over the years to maintain effectiveness. I hate the thought of toxifying my body but have never been able to successfully go very long with out them. However, when I tried the Alpha-Stim at my physical therapist's office, I was amazed at how relaxed I felt. I researched the product quite thoroughly on the internet and found nothing but positive info about Alpha-Stim. I was so impressed that I actually bought one within the week. Since receiving the device two weeks ago, I have noticed a significant reduction in pain and anxiety. I believe the depression and sleep problems have improved slightly. With continued use, I'm hopeful that I may be able to reduce medication and still see positive changes in my condition. I am very pleased with this device. It appears that it certainly won't hurt anyone and most likely everyone who uses it will achieve at least some relief....sometimes dramatic relief! Great product...thank you for an alternative!

I was diagnosed with liver cancer several months ago. I did not want to be dependent on drugs for pain relief. I had known about the Alpha-Stim for several years, so I chose to try it instead of pain medication. I got my Alpha-Stim the last of November and have had real good results. When my pain level begins to rise, I just change out my battery. I stay pretty much pain free. I wear it for 24 hours a day. Also, I wear my ear clips an hour or so a day.

After being in two separate accidents four years apart, the first affecting the left side of my back and the second on the right side, I was in chronic pain, suffered with fibromyalgia and uneven muscle tears. Initially I was interested in the Alpha-Stim for anxiety and depression. A friend who practices alternative veterinary medicine demonstrated the ear clips for me when I was going though a long period of severe anxiety. I knew immediately this machine was for me and right away began saving up money to purchase my own machine.

Little did I know how much I would come to rely on the Alpha-Stim for my chronic neck and back pain of 37 years and presently sciatica. Over the years, I’ve tried all types of therapy and home remedies and nothing has ever come close to the results the Alpha-Stim offers. In fact, in most cases it has completely cleared up my body pain.

It was only a short time ago that just about every other month I would be so discouraged over the next pain issue that I would be dealing with- taking two to three weeks to get over. Now what ever comes up, I can deal with it right away.

I’ve been in pain for so many years and so often hopeless- sometimes I don’t ever think of using the Alpha-Stim right away. And then of course I wonder why I didn’t go straight to it. What is amazing is no matter how severe or stubborn the pain is, I know that if I just keep at it with the Alpha-Stim, it will eventually clear up.

I’ve also suffered from depression on and off throughout my life. But when I entered menopause, my resilience was affected profoundly and I also developed severe anxiety.

I am on medication for this, but began using the ear clips daily a couple of months ago. The anxiety has lessened quite a bit and hope to one day be using just the Alpha-Stim for anxiety and depression.

“It is not possible to express in words how thankful I am to your company and Dr. Kirsch for the Alpha-Stim 100, and the incredibly positive and healing effects it has had in my life.

That said, if my words might convince just one other person to try the device, who may be undecided, then I'll give it my best shot...

Yours is a product that goes against the tide in our disposable culture: your Alpha-Stim 100 not only works, but it works the first time, and lasts a long time, and has incredibly broad application. I will never be without one again, and my only regret is I can’t buy ten of them to give to those several of my friends and family who each are locked in struggle with one or more issues of anxiety, depression, &/or pain. I know they would see the same kind of "get out of jail free"-card benefits that I have with this unit.

I learned about Dr. Becker via his research on bone regrowth—clearly a man who has made a major contribution to medical practice across the country, as that widely recognized superior approach and subsequently was adopted by the AMA and hospitals across the country and around the world. It was that reputation that made me put aside my doubts and consider learning more about the Alpha-Stim.

After years of being dependent on anti-depressants, I was becoming really weary of a “solution” which had helped me be more even-keeled and but at a price: I also felt I was under a kind of chemical blanket that left me less present for my own life and for my family. That and not being able to sleep well made me want to try the Alpha-Stim 100 as soon as I heard about it. After discussing it with my psychiatrist, we thought we’d give it a shot.

Once I received the unit, I waffled a bit—I admit it—and decided just to test the basic claims about pain management or mitigation--which by themselves I found somewhat hard to believe. I wasn’t about to clip something on my ears and run a microcurrent through my brain until I had validated its effectiveness on something a little less scary, like cramped and kinked low-back muscles.

I had been unsuccessfully nursing recurring back pain for more than three weeks, so I thought I’d try the Alpha-Stim on a real challenge. Running through the Pain protocol myself with the two probes--vectoring as described in your manual--in less than 60 seconds (which is roughly five different positionings of the two probes) around the pain in my back, I had to stop and think. Why the heck am I doing this, my back doesn’t really hurt. Well, it still doesn’t. And that pain is such a distant memory I’m not really sure what side of my back it was.

Just to control for placebo, I tried it again a week later on a crick in my neck & shoulder I’d earned from hoisting my one-year old daughter up from the floor seventy-leven times a day. Again, within 60 seconds, I was in the same mental space of wondering why I was wasting my time with this silly device when my shoulder doesn’t really hurt at all. Phenomenal. As they say in the RonCo commercials Now How Much Would You Pay? But this doesn’t do julienne fries; it gets rid of pain without drugs.

At that point it seemed idiotic to delay trying the unit on my depression. That being one of the things about depression, inertia, inability to move forward. Even to help yourself out of depression.

How much this is actually worth is hard to calculate. How much is your mental health worth? How much is it worth not to be in pain? How much is it worth to your family. What are the societal costs to depression and chronic pain on an annual GDP basis? What about other "remedies" which are actually dependencies?

If you’re on the fence about trying this device, I have to ask you to reflect on whether you’re just blocked by the situation you know, and the possibility of not being with the pains you are accustomed to is kind of frightening in its own way. "What would I do if I didn’t have the pain any more?" Just try it.

When I began realizing what was happening as a result of using the unit, the first thing I did was laugh out loud.

No veil between me and reality. Being present, happy, resilient. Feeling my feelings without getting sucked into a black hole. Just being healthy. I figured the Alpha-Stim was hopelessly overpriced when I bought it. Now I figure in a truly equitable world I’d pay thousands a year just to have it around, and with the money I saved on drugs and doctor visits, I’d spend more to give it away to others who couldn’t afford it.

By the third night of using the device for the depression & anxiety protocol, I forgot to take my anti-depressant pill before going to sleep. Two weeks later I called my psychiatrist and said “we may have a winner, I’ll call you in a week.”

If I had some time with Dr. Kirsch, I’d have several hundred questions to ask him about his research and this device. But my main thanks is that he toughed it out for all the years it took not only to cover the basic science but then the miniaturization, reaching an accessible price-point, and then the policy & regulatory process to make sure this device could become available to the general public.

The device pays for itself a hundredfold both for my own new lease on life, but also as I see it in the faces and expressions of delighted surprise at the stable, centered, well-rested and happy husband and dad that you have given back to my family.

I wish I could allow you to use my name, but in my line of work as you can understand even mentioning depression or anxiety can mean loss of possibility of promotion or employability. At some point I guess I'll stop caring about that, and then I'll write you another thank you letter.

I encourage anyone in similar situation to try either of the Alpha-Stim products—with depression, the only thing you have to lose is the "bag of rocks" you’ve been hauling around. That, and no more monthly pharmacy bills.

I've been using Alpha-Stim since about Nov. 2004, and I love it. It has helped my carpal tunnel tremendously and the ear clips keep my life running more productively. I found out about the Alpha-Stim from a friend who also has Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). She told me how she has been able to lower the amount of pain medication that she took. She told me how much it has helped her mental health. Since I've been using the Alpha-Stim I've noticed a deep sleep I've not had since I was a child. My pain has taken a softer side with less anxiety. I've been able to lessen some of my medications without any uncomfortable side effects. I know as time passes the results from the Alpha-Stim will continue to duplicate themselves. I have used the probes with instant results as well. I have always been very active with a set of injures separate from CRPS. My Alpha-Stim allows me to treat each of my injuries as needed. I have had Lupus-like syndrome, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease for approximately 10-12 years. I have also had difficulty getting into restorative sleep because of pain and my medications. For the last few years, I have also had periods of depression.

I saw Begin Healing's ad in the newspaper early this year and decided to attend their informational meeting. Marlene used me to demonstrate the Alpha-Stim 100 to the group. After she did the pain therapy on my shoulders and neck area and I wore the clips for an hour at 1.5, my pain level from my fibromyalgia went from approximately 6-7 to approximately 1-2 (in one session).

I have been using the Alpha-Stim 100 faithfully since then (approximately 3 months). My fibromyalgia pain levels are very low on most days (1-2) and if I have a flare up in a certain area, I just treat that area and then wear the clips for an hour afterwards. Because I am so sensitive to stimulus, pain, etc., the highest level I have been able to use on my ears has been 1.5 for an hour. I am able to use higher levels to treat the pain in my knees, shoulders and lower back.

I am sleeping much better than before and my overall mood is so much better. I am cheerful and enjoy my

life again!

When my doctor first told me about this strange thing that works on microcurrents of electricity, I thought he needed a doctor. I never thought outside the box for something that could bring relief without it being in the shape of a pill. I never looked at any other options-although years ago I did have acupuncture and it was successful. As my doctor went on explaining more about the Alpha-Stim it began to make sense. My husband was with me and he believed in it more than I did. BUT when you are in pain you try anything. I had a treatment in his office and experienced about a 30% relief in pain. We decided to go ahead and order one, it came within 3 days and I watched the DVD and started to use it right away. I was amazed that almost right away areas which have caused pain for years started to loosen up and the pain was going away. My neck which has been a source of pain for over 20 years started to ease away the pain first, then my lower back, slowly it started to help my whole body and when something starts to cause pain I just whip it out and use it again. You can't OD on it -- like you could a pill and it keeps your mind clear and not fogged over like with medication. I would strongly recommend this for anyone in pain -- and not just fibromyalgia. Last night my husband’s shoulder was hurting him from work. I helped him use it and slowly the pain started to get better. I have been spreading the word to all those in chronic pain -- and have strongly spoke about its healing qualities to the chronic pain group that I run.

The Alpha-Stim 100 was first used on me for carpal tunnel.

I sought an alternative method to surgery because I have a daughter sick with brain cancer and can not take the time that is needed to do surgery and recovery. I need to be able to take care of my daughter at 100% right now.

I only sought help for my hand when I could no longer feel any sensation in the first three digits of my right hand. I was concerned not so much because of the numbness, but because I too have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I found the lump and now with the numbness could no longer feel with my right hand. I wanted to be able to do my own self-exam.

The results I have experienced from acupuncture and the Alpha-Stim protocol has been great. It has helped me with more than just my hand. My stress level has been greatly reduced. I still have the same amount of concerns and fears with my daughter’s treatment, but I am better equipped to handle them now. I also plan to use the Alpha-Stim on my daughter. I have talked to my acupuncturist about the benefits it will bring her and how to use it on her.

I am looking forward to its use for my boys, too. They are always coming home with some sports injury. I think this is going to be a welcome addition to my household.

Since being diagnosed with an uncommon, painful nerve disease, I have come to understand the importance of reducing and managing stress. To accomplish this, I have learned the importance of taking time to clear my mind and relax my brain. The Alpha-Stim aids me in these endeavors. When using the Alpha-Stim, I reach a state of relaxation sooner. Plus, I am able to maintain a deeper, lengthier relaxed state. Consequently, I am better able to manage stress thereby allowing me greater control over my nerve pain.

My mom is 80 years old. For the passed 20 years she has suffered with collapsed vertebra and arthritis in the spine. Two years ago she started to get severe sciatic pain. Mom also has a heart condition. Her doctor recommend that she see a pain management specialist. Dr. Hershman had given her a cortisone shot along with some treatments with the Alpha-Stim 100. After the shot wore off he continued with Alpha-Stim . He wanted to give her the least invasive treatment because she was on a blood thinner. She was having good results with the Alpha-Stim, not only for her sciatic, but was treated for shoulder pain, knee pain and stiffness in several joints. These treatments were so successful that I purchased the machine for her use at home although it was extremely costly and not covered by insurance. Most of her pain is relieved. I wish to thank you for what seemed to be a "miracle treatment" when you utilized the Alpha-Stim 100 microcurrent stimulator to address the pain that I have experienced for over 15 years in my neck and shoulder, and more recently, my arm. The outstanding, positive results that have reduced my need to rely on oral medicine for pain, and occasional debilitating numbness in my neck, shoulders and arm, were a godsend for someone whose livelihood depends on spending hours at a computer keyboard.

I have found the best results with treatment 3-4 times per week. On this schedule, I was able to sleep through the night without being awakened by pain, and ceased to experience debilitating numbness in my arm. I also experienced greatly reduced pain. I have worked for 23 years as a senior video editor with the major broadcasting company in the Netherlands, and I can say it was the job I always wanted and I couldn’t imagine that there was something else i would do for a living. But 5 years ago I got shoulder problems and the pain was so bad that I got sick from it and couldn’t do my normal work. After being sick for a year the broadcast company decided that it was time to say goodbye to me and fired me. So I lost my job because of a working related desease, and different from your country we don’t have the means by law to claim money from the employer. The first year and the years after I consulted many different disciplines of medical doctors and physiotherapists and alternitive doctors to find out what was wrong with the shoulder and how to cure it. After many consults and MRI scans and EMG of different parts of the neck shoulder and back nobody could tell me what the real course of the pain was. After 3 years my orthopedist advised me after being injected about 12 times with cortisone that the only solution was to operate on the shoulder. What he would do was a decompressing and bij doing so he would create more space for the nerves in my shoulder and the result of that would be relief of pain. After a long wait (we have long waiting lists in the Netherlands for operation) he performed the operation and he told me afterwards that the operation was a succes. But not for me the pain was still there and i was very dissapointed. After about two month’s and many consults with my orthopedist he told me that he was finished and he couldn’t do anything for me anymore. At that point I wasn’t too interrested any more in finding out what was wrong with the shoulder, the only thing I wanted was to get pain relief. The physiotherapist I visit told me that it was neccessary to get pain relief, because of the pain he couldn’t treat the shoulder properly and therefore the condition of the shoulder got worse. So I was sent to a very good pain clinic and there they injected a nerve in my neck to get pain relief. But unfortunatly it didn’t work for me; the pain remained. I became depressed with the feeling that this was it, i just had to live with the pain for the rest of my life. My girlfriend works in a hospital as a social worker on the revalidation department and she came in contact with the psychotherapist who also works there and told him my story. He immidiatly told her that I should contact him because he had something for me. When she told me that I was very sceptical at first as I’d seen every discipline in medicine and that there would be a psychotherapist who would have the answer. But I went to him and he told me about the Alpha-Stim and treated me with it. And to my big suprise it worked for me after the first session I felt real good. The pain was reduced to a minimum and had a very pleasant feeling overall. After several threatments Rob the psychotherapist asked me if I was interrested in opening a practice of my own under his guidence he was too busy with his own practice and didn’t have the time to threat patients with the Alpha-Stim. And so we opened a practice to threat people with the Alpha-Stim. I really can say that the Alpha-Stim is the best thing what happened to me in this part of my life I have a great relief of pain it has improved my feeling of well-being I can pick up my social life again and it improved my quality of life a lot.

Thank you a million-trillion times for Alpha-Stim!!! I have carpel tunnel, and fibromyalgia (with the accompanying insomnia and lack of energy). I received my unit last July, and went from despondent and weary from the chronic pain, to nearly pain-free, and elated at the change, in less than a week. From dragging my sorry behind up the flight of stairs to my apartment, to DASHING up the stairs without being winded! The pain from the fibromyalgia was deeply stabbing pain that would strike without warning, sometimes bringing me to tears in the middle of a trip to the grocery store. For months, I couldn’t push a shopping cart because of the pain in my arms. Now, I rarely get such severe pain, the current level of pain averages about 2-3 over the course of a day instead of 7-9 (on a 10 point scale), and can be characterized as dull or irritating instead of debilitating. My energy level is vastly increased. I was unemployed for several years because of my pain, loss of fine motor skills and lack of energy (requiring daily naps). I now sleep deeper than before Alpha-Stim, and rise fewer times per night. This results in better energy during the day and the need for only the occasional nap, and I seem to need only about 6-8 hours of sleep instead of 10-12. My sense of self-worth has improved, because I have less trouble keeping up the household duties. And the depression I was experiencing more and more as the chronic pain progressed is all but eliminate. I live in a “challenging” neighborhood (lots of drug and prostitute activity on the streets-sirens frequently-accidents at the busy corner ½ block away) and the stress can really get to a person. I feel much more able to cope with this often hostile environment, and more patient in traffic, too. I had begun to use alcohol for the pain and had even combined it with codeine to achieve even some relief on the really bad days. I almost never use pharmaceuticals any more, and my desire for alcohol has faded to the “occasional beer with pizza” level.

I use the Alpha-Stim. I have fibromyalgia and migraines, and trouble sleeping and ever since using this it's made me feel a lot better. I have been using the Alpha-Stim for one month, and it has greatly improved my health. I am using this product to help with depression, anxiety and insomnia. I am 55 years old, and work as a computer professional in a demanding role.

I am a 53-year old man with a history of anxiety and depression that I can trace back to being five years of age.
I have sought relief through treatment with psychiatrists and psychologists for the past fifteen years. I have been prescribed SSRI's, MAOI's, and tricyclics, all to no avail. Tonya, I spoke with you on the phone last Friday about the use of these devices for soldiers in theater. I ended up ordering an Alpha-Stim SCS from Austin Biofeedback Center in Austin, TX on Friday, September 14th for my son, Gerald “Jason” Ellis who is currently serving in a rapid deployment unit with the Army 3rd ID in Iraq. Thank you for asking how he is doing. As far as I know, Jason is doing fine. He did receive the Alpha-Stim and has been using it as often as he can. At the time I sent the Alpha-Stim to him I was getting very worried about his mental health due to the tremendous amount of stress he was struggling to cope with on a never ending basis. Within one week of using the Alpha-Stim I could tell a difference in his tone of voice and attitude. His sense of humor began to return and he was once again beginning to dream about his future rather than dwell on the harsh reality of a fatigued soldier in combat. Since then, he has had the experience of having to live without it for approximately 2 weeks under stressful conditions and I could hear his anxiety levels increasing significantly during that time. I’m hoping by now he has been able to hook up and dump some of the anxiety that seems to be on overflow, but I haven’t heard from him yet.

The best assistance you could provide would be to convince the military to embrace this type of therapy for every soldier living in a war zone. Beginning with the combat units living in the neighborhoods of Baghdad as these soldiers are being challenged in ways the military has never challenged our brave soldiers before. I see the Alpha-Stim as a very small price to pay to help protect the mental health of our young men and women who are fighting so hard and living and working without the comforts of electricity most of the time, or water and sewage; just to mention a few things Americans take for granted. I starting having panic attacks and anxiety a few months ago and it was the scariest time of my life. I wanted a safe long term treatment option and I spent many weeks researching the best course of action. After I analyzed the benefits and risks of medication or electro cranial therapy stimulation, the choice was a no-brainer. Any benzodiazepine or antidepressant carries dozens of side effects with short and long term use. I wanted to feel better, not worse. For years I suffered from insomnia and anxiety; I was put on Paxil & Trazadone to treat it but hated the constant side effects. The Alpha-Stim has been wonderful and I feel great every day now. It has been a "lifesaver"!

Here is my story... Last month (Jan 2007) I went in search of a "natural" way to cure my depression, anxiety and sleep disturbances. (Previous to my search I had made an appointment with my nurse practitioner who was going to put me on Effexor- a very powerful AD drug -- she said I needed "a stick of dynamite” -- if that says anything about the state I was in) and she told me I would have to be on it the rest of my life. Well, needless to say, I will never forget that, and I didn't sit with me very well. I did fill the script, but was really reluctant to take the first pill. (Also, I had been on Zoloft in the past and stop using it because of the side effects). I am a person who really doesn't like side effects even if I know they will go away.

Before I put one pill in my mouth (I looked at the bottle for about 3 days), I wanted to make sure Effexor was for me (even though it was prescribed I still wanted to make sure this was the way to go). Well, after looking at various depression drug sites and hitting a site called "crazymeds.org" and reading the "cons" of this drug I was pretty sure I needed to find another way to cure my depression. On that site it had a link to "cure depression naturally" so I hit and "wah la" I was sent to the Alpha-Stim solution. I was so excited and read every detail of how it worked, and watched all the testimonials from the news clips and read other peoples stories. I shared this with my husband who is a RN and he said "go for it" and with a 30 day back guarantee -- why not. Then I called my nurse practitioner and she wrote me a script. The Alpha-Stim arrived 1 week later.

I have had it now for over 30 days. I started on the 0-1 level for a couple of weeks using it daily and wanted to work my way to the recommended level of 2 (like I said I am pretty sensitive). I did have one day that I started at a level too high and it made me nauseous but went away quickly like the directions said after turning it back down. The great fact is that "I am in control" of the level I want and the results I want. That is the best aspect of this way of treatment. Well, I am now at 2-3 level and use it every day or other day. (Also, you can feel results quicker if you can get to a level of 1 or more sooner like it is directed, it just will depend on you). Anyway, I feel 99% better than I did 30 days ago, depression, anxiety is gone and I am sleeping much better. Best of all NO SIDE EFFECTS!! (My son has ADD ADHD and I plan on starting him on it soon too.)

Also, my nurse practitioner called me a week ago to see how I was doing and said she is now going to get one for her practice.

Again, I am very thankful for the Alpha-Stim and highly recommend this as a truly effective treatment for depression, anxiety and insomnia. In my opinion, it is a much more logical and natural way than synthetic drugs that just "band-aid and effect your entire body " instead of correcting and adjusting the only source--your-head!!".

I am a 36 year old male who has been suffering with anxiety probably since I was a child after witnessing the break up of my parents, and the effect this had on my mother. This anxiety intensified in my twenties probably brought on by the death of my father, who I totally idolized.

In my later twenties I suffered an illness for about 18 months which I thought I would not recover from which at times made me want to die, which only made my anxiety worse, and even after I recovered it was like I lived in a perpetual state of fear, wondering when the ground was going to open up again.

It has affected my work and personal life, and at times totally debilitated me.

I personally think my anxiety problem is partly genetic but has also been brought about by life events that I have not reacted to very well and don't feel I've been able to emotionally recover from.

After my mother died suddenly in my early thirties whom I was extremely close to this anxiety turned into a total break down, and if it wasn't for the fact that my partner was due to give birth to our daughter 5 months later, I think I would have chosen a path of gradual personal destruction having no regard or respect for life after what I felt life had done to me.

I have been prescribed four separate anti-depressants which I had to cease taking after suffering adverse side effects (some quite severe) until I finally was prescribed an anti-depressant which did help me a tremendous amount. The trouble was over time I had to reduce the dosage because of the feelings of fatigue I experienced with them and weight gain. This in effect resulted in relapse i.e. feelings of anxiety again and at times deep depression.

I came across Alpha-Stim totally by accident on the internet, and thought it was worth trying out. Worse case scenario I would lose $500, although I was assured there was a 30 day refund policy.

After the first two weeks I was ready to send the Alpha-Stim back. I experienced dizziness, headaches, difficulty sleeping, tiredness throughout the day (none of which I was having before using the machine). I was using the machine for between 20 and 60 minutes a day initially on setting three and then on setting two.

I spoke to Karl at Moeller Medical a number of times who told me if I wanted I could send the machine back and get a refund but persuaded me to try the machine one last time, but this time every other day and reduce the setting to one.

I followed his advice which was nearly three weeks ago now and am dearly glad I did. I am using it more or less every day now for an hour on setting one. I now look forward to getting up in the morning and using it, whereas before the morning was always the worst part of the day for me. I have had no more dizziness or adverse effects apart from a very minor headache initially, on the left hand side of my head, which I put down to the machine stimulating something at that side of my brain.

Something is changing in me and I don't know what or how, and I don't care. All I know is I feel calmer, happier, clearer headed, more focused, positive, looking forward to the future, able to take on new projects I was afraid of doing before, getting on with my partner better, less afraid, having a better insight into things, been able to detach myself from matters that I could not do before.

There's a part of me that does not want any body else knowing about the Alpha-Stim, it's like it's my secret or advantage on the rest of the world but that's selfish. If just one person who is suffering benefits from the Alpha-Stim from reading my testimonial then I will have the pleasure in knowing that I have given a great gift.

I have had a severe sleeping disorder ever since serving as a Marine in Viet Nam. Additionally, as a result of my "experiences" there, I also suffer from anxiety attacks and other "conditions."

I have been dealing/coping/enduring these and other issues for over 38 plus years.I would experience severe sleeping disorder bouts at least 2-3 times a year. I finally sought help and have been on many different medications for the past 14 years.

However,in the past, when I could not fall asleep at night I almost always fell asleep out of sheer exhaustion about the time I was supposed to get up and go to work.

This past May (2006), I began what would eventually be a 6 week bout without being able to fall asleep at night. However, for the first time, I did not/could not fall asleep as I had been able to do in the past. I gave up and tried to take a nap later in the day and still could not fall asleep. That night, and for what would go on for the next 6 weeks, I could not sleep at all!

After the better part of a week, I finally called my Psychiatrist and he "upped" the dosages on my medication. When that didn't work we changed medications.This went on for weeks and nothing was working! I flat out could not sleep!

Days had now turned into weeks. I was now psyched out, I could not think straight, and I had become desperate. Every day and every night was an eternity. I was exhausted, suffering, my mind was not thinking rationally, and I started feeling hopeless and was now feeling depressed. I did not know what was happening to me. I had never felt this "bad" or this "way" before. I was in such bad shape mentally that I actually started thinking of taking my own life, anything but this pain and mental anguish I was experiencing.

My Psychiatrist finally put me on 30 milligrams of Valium, 100 milligrams of Seroquel, 600 milligrams of Lithium, and a "new" Patch for Depression (Selegiline transdermal System). He also told me that I had slipped into "deep clinical melancholy Depression." There was nothing more he could do for me medicinally and based on my "condition," he recommended Electro Convulsion Therapy. These new medications "knocked me out," and I started getting sleep, but I was in the throes of deep depression. Although desperate, ECT still sounded very radical.

My Sister had been scouring the internet for anything related to Depression and came upon your site. I called "Karl," got my Psychiatrist to prescribe Alpha Stim and ordered it. It didn't happen overnight, but after about 3 weeks I started making "baby steps" out of my depression. I have used it every other day since then, and came out of depression in late August. As a precautionary measure, even though I thought I was almost back to "normal," my Psychiatrist still has me on the same medication.

I have been suffering with anxiety and depression intermittently for a very long time and have been prescribed medications to combat its adverse symptoms. I got my Alpha-Stim when I had taken my dog to a vet that uses this in her practice. My dog, a very shy, fearful and timid Sheltie that I had was not getting any better and was fearing every thing he heard and seen. I have used this for 6 months on my dog and he has had remarkable changes. He now visits people in the nursing home on a monthly basis and does tricks for them, and the residents just love him. He still has some fear and shyness but he seems to face them much easier than before the AS. He also has been doing agility with me and we got our first novice agility title in July. Then I decided to try agility with him again in July and he did great! Then I decided to give it a try and use it to help me sleep. I used to feel depressed and had a lot of anxiety. I don't really have it now and seem to have a better self esteem. Two years ago I attended a DTA Resources seminar given by Dan Taylor. Since I was experiencing a sinus headache at the time, I volunteered for a demonstration, and was amazed at how quickly my pain was relieved. I purchased an Alpha-Stim 100 and have used it ever since, not only for headaches, but back pain, neck and shoulder tension, and even bunion pain. It also was invaluable last year when I went through a period of anxiety and insomnia due to an illness and death in my family.

I wanted to let you know of my success with the Alpha-Stim SCS system. I have suffered with acute anxiety for over two years and was introduced to this product by my psychiatrist. Admittedly, I was skeptical at first. Now, some two months later, I wouldn’t trade it for anything! When I feel an anxiety attack approaching, I can immediately use my Alpha-Stim unit and get relief faster than taking anxiety medicine. I have been quite impressed with your product and have recommended it to others. My anxiety has not gone away completely, but it has been significantly reduced by using your product. I purchased the Alpha-Stim SCS and it arrived on May 9, 2006. The product has been wonderful. I feel so much more relaxed and seem to let things slide off my back more now. I do not feel as tense as I used to feel. Life has changed for me in that I am more easy going and handle life’s daily pressure much better now. I feel more at peace with myself and life. The little things that I used to make into big things now are little as they should be. Thank you so much for this wonderful product. I do find that I cannot use it right before bedtime as it stimulates me and keeps me awake. However, I am fine if I use it several hours before going to bed. My preference is to use it in the morning.

Ten years ago "simply living" suddenly became the greatest challenge. After 1 1/2 years recovering from obvious injuries (knee, tooth, head, back, neck etc) after a rollover auto accident, I learned I had Syringomyelia, a progressive "untreatable" spinal cord injury as well. Severe insomnia, gradual muscle paralysis, and extreme fatigue are now the obvious results which I continually "work around" to maintain my best quality of life. For 5 years I took a medication called Klonopin for my insomnia as without good sleep all my other symptoms were greatly enhanced. In my previous life I was a troubleshooter of electronics and I now use this skill to seek methods "out there" which help me monitor myself and provide relief. I purchased the Alpha Stim SCS unit near the final and most severe stages of withdrawal (voluntary) from the sleep medication which I discovered was actually contributing to major respiratory difficulty. (previously attributed to my condition) My breathing improved but the withdrawal process was grueling with increased insomnia and anxiety. The first time I used the SCS CES unit by Alpha Stim I enjoyed the immediate and reduced anxiety benfit during treatment, but was very surprised indeed when I fell alseep BEFORE taking my sleep medications that very night! As my situation and condition is quite pronounced I use my SCS unit twice daily with continued success. The result is dramatic and reliable and I am on my first year of use. In a world which seems to believe that pills (chemical) are the answer for everything I am quite certain that this is an unbalanced view. I applaud Alpha Stim for providing another (safe) approach (the "electro" part of us all) to health and well being.

I have 4 herinated discs, and a few bad discs that they say need to be replaced. Nerve burning as well, in my neck. Along with 3 herinated discs in my lower back. Spinal stenosis and arthritis. I have suffered with fibromyalgia since 1994. I have been dealing with chronic panic for over 10 years.

I started to use Alpha-Stim 100 after taking a bad fall and breaking my elbow while at therapy for my other conditions.

I have had very good luck with this unit in being able to stop the pain and medicines I was taking. Morphine being one of them for over 1 ½ years. I take nothing at all now.

Although I have had spinal epidurals vs the surgery options through my pain management doctor I maintain the pain control using this unit.

In addition it has helped me with my depression, anxiety and as well sleeping better. I have no problems walking on my feet, like I used to. Arising from sitting or walking just by getting out of bed I sometimes needed to use a cane.

Thank you for this unit. It was actually a blessing in disguise to have discovered this unit through a physical therapist after treatments on my shoulder and elbow in April, I used it to control all my pain areas. And as of July I was able to stop all medicines and have been drug free since then.

I have sent information about the Alpha-Stim to the APFA and American Airlines but I am sure, you could give them better information than I did. All I know is it has made such a positive impact on my family, I can't help but sing it's praises. I tell every flight attendant I work with, as I know most are on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs. I knew American Airlines would want to know about this amazing device for the financial savings it would have on the company. Since they are self funded, can you imagine how much money they would save if even 50% of their employees were able to withdraw from anti-depressant medications? Although my husband isn't completely medication free, we have been able to cut his medications in half - saving us $50.00 each month in medications costs. I will be medication free by January and that will add another $50.00 a month in savings to our family.

Alpha-Stim was originally prescribed by our counselor for our adopted daughter who was suffering with Reactive Attachment Disorder. Before she began using the system to calm her down, she would have rages that would become violent. Last March she had such an episode where she raged uncontrollably. She clawed my arms with her nails when I tried to hold her to keep her from running out the door. She's only 10 years old but when she raged, she had unbelievable strength. After holding her down for almost 30 minutes, she broke free and ran out the door. I called the police and they had to help me find her and restrain her again. I called the counselor who came to the house immediately placed her on the Alpha-Stim unit. Within ten minutes, she was calm and crying "I'm so sorry Mommy, what did I do?". Through counseling and the use of the Alpha-Stim, she hasn't had one rage since March.

When I saw the difference the Alpha-Stim made in my daughter, I started using it myself for anxiety. I have been on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication since 9/11. Our work environment on every flight is so stressful. Before 9/11, we were more like Ambassadors for American Airlines. Now we wear the hats of safety, security, counselor, customer service, etc. I feel conflicted constantly never knowing if the customer I am serving, being nice to and trying to ensure they will return as a repeat customer is the one who will try to take my life or control of the aircraft. Because of the stress in our workplace, I became ill more often and suffered more in-flight injuries. However, with the Alpha-Stim, I can manage that stress. I can administer a treatment on the plane, in the hotel or even sitting in the airport. It doesn't affect me as drugs do, it only removes the stress so I can think clearer and make rational decisions. As a flight attendant, we are limited to what medications we can take while flying or even eight hours before a flight. With Alpha-Stim, medication is no longer a worry and as of January 2005, won't be an issue at all.

We were also very impressed with your customer service when the device stopped working last month and we emailed your company about repair. It was repaired and back to us within ten working days without any hassles. Since my daughter, husband and I share the unit, you can imagine how much the short repair time meant to us. As we said in our first letter, we're very pleased with Alpha-Stim and hope more people will learn about it's benefits, so they too can become stress free and drug free.

1. Seventy-two years old and a retired Fighter Pilot.

2. Married with five children and seven grandchildren.

3. Diagnosed with Parkinson Disease two years ago.

4. Journeyed to The Mayo Clinic in MN and the Whitaker Wellness Clinic in CA. Both of these clinics said that PD was not curable. I tried several expensive treatments without any visible results at Whitaker. I did gain helpful information from both clinics about proper diet, exercise, and need to maintain a good attitude.

My name is Lee, and I have had a history of both depression and anxiety since 1971. For years I tried various antidepressant medications, which brought a small measure of relief for these problems. About two years ago, I read about your Alpha-Stim therapy and a healthcare professional wrote me a prescription, so I could give your technology a try.

I have been using the Alpha-Stim for almost two years. First, I'd like to comment on how calm and relaxed I feel while using the unit. I have had depression all of my life. In my teens and twenties, I was prescribed 8 different medications over the course of a few years and nothing seemed to work. The last medication I took for depression and anxiety was Paxil and it definitely did not help me. The beast of all medications, it took me a year and a half to get off Paxil.
After all the disappointment and lack of success with medication, I resigned myself to living with depression and anxiety.

For the last five years, I’ve done my best to deal with being depressed on a daily basis, but it has been quite taxing on me, my friends, and my family. I often miss a lot of work and much of the good things in life due to these emotional troubles. I have tried therapy and it helps. I also use acupuncture, which helps with my depression and anxiety. However, I still have not felt completely happy or free of these issues.
One day when I was feeling particularly depressed and totally hopeless, my therapist suggested I try the Alpha-Stim 100. She rented it to me for one week and within two sessions, I noticed improvement. Now, after three months of using the Alpha-Stim for 30 minutes- 1 hour per day, I feel like a new person. I think more clearly, I am calm and feel at peace with myself. I sleep better and in the morning, I am happy that I woke up to have another day! (I never felt that way before!) My co-workers, friends and family have all mentioned the difference they see in me.

I truly believe that I am going to be able to lead a medication free life with the use of the Alpha-Stim. I dreaded the thought that for the rest of my life, I would have to use some kind of medication. With the Alpha-Stim, I won’t worry again! I am so pleased with how much better I feel in these last months. I would recommend this to anyone suffering from depression or anxiety. To whom it may help,

I have suffered from anxiety 7 years. About six month ago, I attempted to stop taking a pain medication that I had been using for 11 months for severe pain. For me, a level 10 equals, “I want to die” and a level 1 is wonderful. When I tried to stop the medication, I woke my wife at 4:19 a.m. and told her I wanted to die. I was at a level 10. We went to a hospital E.R. and I was admitted for 4 days. After I was released, I remained at a level 6 or 7 all the time. One evening we saw a CBS evening news special about the Alpha-Stim and its ability to treat anxiety. I called CBS local station and got the name of a doctor in my general area who provides the equipment and information on it. I decided to try the device. At present, after about 60 days use, most of my days I am at a level 2 to 3 and occasionally a 1. I have reduced my dose of Xanax by 50%. Since the only difference in my life has been the Alpha-Stim device, I have to believe that it is the direct cause of my improvement. So I believe it is fair to say that it must be the cause of my improvement.

I have used the Alpha-Stim PPM as a back-up for my Alpha-Stim 100, and it works very well for me. It has made my life so much better! I am grateful that Dr. Davis Kloeffler told me about the Alpha-Stim for controlling pain. After using one of his units, I know that it was the best solution for pain management for me.

I have referred your products to my cousin and he bought a unit for himself, and he bought another unit for his daughter. I also demonstrated the unit for my aunt. She lives in Edmond Oklahoma. She was interested in the unit for her son-in-law who suffers from anxiety attacks.

I look forward to seeing the Alpha-Stim units in Pain Centers and doctor’s offices for patients help in controlling pain, insomnia, and anxiety problems. The Alpha-Stim units have been a Godsend to me.

Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation

CES —A.R.T. for your Brain

CES (cranial electrotherapy stimulation) treats a variety of ailments, but because of legal restrictions, the manufacturers are only allowed to say that it effectively treats anxiety, depression, stress, and insomnia. To receive a “brain treatment,” electrode clips are placed on the earlobes for an average of twenty minutes three times per week. The user may feel a slight tingling sensation but often feels nothing at all.

Some users report feeling light (or heavy then light), as their anxiety fades away. Unlike drugs used to treat mood disorders, the mind is left alert while the body is relaxed. Dr. Kirsch uses the analogy of having a Type-A mind with a Type-B body. (Type-A personalities are usually creative, hard working go-getters, but often suffer from stress-related ills. Type-B’s are more relaxed and laid back but tend to live with their parents until their 30’s.)

Anxiety reduction is usually felt during the first treatment although the effects are cumulative over time. Depression and insomnia are usually controlled, if not cured, in two to three weeks. Users also report feeling more energetic, focused, and, well, good. Although not its primary mechanism of action, microcurrent treatment Increases natural endorphin output.

Studies are still ongoing in many of these areas, but people are noticing marked improvements in the treatment of ADD, phobias, and drug and alcohol addiction (including prescription drug addiction) using CES. Users also report an increased ability to learn, concentrate and focus. This technology has even been used to treat criminals since some types of crime are considered to be manifestations of anxiety. (Perhaps we should hook Mike Tyson up to one of these things?)

CES can also be used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Kirsch traveled to Kuwait after the Gulf War to train medical personnel in its use. (After the events of September 11th, Dr. Kirsch offered to send as many microcurrent stlmulators as needed to New York. The offer became so tangled in red tape that New Yorkers never received the technology. New Yorkers, however, have been clamoring for prescription sedatives and relaxants since the attacks according to a recent article from Reuters.)

While Americans do need a prescription from a doctor or any LMP (Licensed Medical Professional), these are easy to obtain as the technology becomes more well known in the medical community. A dentist, chiropractor and even a certified acupuncturist can prescribe the device. The CES device runs around $500 (US) and can often be rented. Some insurance companies may cover part of the cost.

“I first read about the Alpha-Stim in an article called "The Microcurrent Revolution", by Chris Shugart, on line in a magazine called Testosterone. I hadn’t really thought about using it until October 2002 when we had those asshat snipers running around the DC area.

After the snipers appeared, my PTSD went through the roof. I had a lot of anxiety, sleeplessness, depression, and was getting close to the end of my rope, so to speak. I was still seeing the EMDR therapist at the time, and she was pretty close to referring me for medication, so I tried the Alpha-Slim as a last measure.

I contacted the company, Electromedical Products International, who referred me to a dentist, Dr. Singer, who was able to prescribe an Alpha-Stim. When I arrived at his office, I was tired from not sleeping the night before, depressed, and extremely stressed since I needed to gas up my car and was afraid of getting shot. He hooked me up to an Alpha-Stim and left me alone reading a magazine.

After about 20 minutes, I noticed a “heavy” sleepy feeling and wasn’t as stressed when I walked in. I chalked my decreasing stress up to being distracted by the magazine, so didn’t think much of it at the time. As the session went on, I noticed my depression was lifting and my anxiety was still going down. After an hour and twenty minutes, I was physically energetic and my depression/anxiety disappeared. I was a little mentally tired, but nothing some coffee couldn’t fix. These feelings lasted through the entire day, but when I woke up the next day, I was back to my original feelings of anxiety/depression.

I had bought an Alpha-Stim (about $500), from Dr. Singer for my personal use and took it to work, using it in my car during my lunch break. The same results occurred as the day before, my mood elevated (the best description is “euphoric”) and I was able to concentrate during the day with no problems. My depression/anxiety returned each morning for about a week and a half, and each time the Stim dissipated those feelings. The amount of time I used the Stim for treatment also decreased. My sessions dropped from an hour, to 40 minutes, then 30.

After that, my depression/anxiety would return every 2-3 days and I’d use the Stim, again for a decreasing amount of time, from 30 minutes down to 20 within a week. I was also sleeping better, usually needing 8 hours of sleep, but was functioning fine on 6 hours. I was also much more sociable and had no problems starting a conversation with complete strangers, which I wasn’t like before using the Stim.

Most PTSD triggers had little effect, and I could control them within 5-10 minutes. If I was triggered by something major, then I’d be able to get back to “normal” within an hour or less, instead of being agitated for longer periods of time.

Overall, I guess the best way to describe Stim usage is it feels like someone’s cleared the cobwebs from my head. Even before 9/11, I was a depressive pessimist ft had trouble thinking positively. After using the Stim, I started seeing alternatives to getting out of situations when I couldn’t before and kept a positive attitude for a longer period of time.

Bad side effects? Nothing I can tell and I’ve been using the Stim on/off for about a year.

This is to say thank you for the Alpha-Stim 100. Use of the machine has allowed me to finally get control over the debilitating pain of Fibromyalgia.

Since my early 40's when I started menopause, I have had severe migraines requiring many trips to the emergency room for Demerol to control the pain when before discovering Imitrex and being able to self administer shots at the migraine onset. As you can see, I was no stranger to pain. Since early childhood, I have had problems with fatigue and memory as well as panic and anxiety attacks. Starting when I broke my leg in 1995, through the present, I have developed other symptoms such as not being able to sleep, and pain in various areas of my body. Doctors had not been able to determine the cause, and only treated the symptoms.

As Vice President of Human Resources for a fortune 100 company, I had to deal with all of this. Including taking numerous prescription medications and continue to be functional at work. The only times that I could take the prescription pain killers were after work and on weekends. Even then, the pain became so bad that nothing helped. My doctor felt the pain was from a misalignment due to the broken leg and sent me to a chiropractor who, after a number of sessions, told me that she believed that I have Fibromyalgia and had me go back to my doctor. The Fibromyalgia was officially diagnosed at the end of 2002 at which time my doctor told me that there wasn't anything that she could do for me, except to continue me on prescription drugs and that I needed to exercise.

My depression increased. I realized that I would have to start taking the medications while working which also wasn't viable. The number of drugs that I already had tried that didn't work along with those that I wasn't currently on would probably qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records. As far as I was concerned, drugs were not a viable long term solution. Upon my diagnosis, I realized that my mother also had Fibromyalgia which was never diagnosed and let to her death from overuse of prescription drugs. I regarded the recommendation to exercise as a joke. How could I ever exercise when in so much pain? I was forced to make a decision between my fantastic six figure job and my health. I retired on my birthday, January 24, 2003

My first step was to do extensive research on Fibromyalgia, which is how I learned about the Alpha-Stim method and EPII.

I purchased the machine and used it as instructed, up to one hour each day for 14 days, (being the overachiever that I am, I started with the max) and was astonished at the results. The first week after completing this treatment I was able to discontinue the sleep medications Alprazolam and Amitryptilene which were no longer working and have not needed them since. Restored sleep has helped me with the pain management and allowed me to focus on getting the other symptoms under control. I have changed my diet, and hired a trainer to help me with exercises.

For the first time in my life, there are many days that I get up and continue through the day without pain. I realize that I will always have to continue on this journey which, is now filled with anticipation instead of anxiety. Hopefully, this journey will eventually lead me back to my HR career that have so much enjoyed or maybe on to a new career.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that from the very first treatment I receive at my physician’s office using the Alpha-Stim Unit, I felt an indescribable sense of calm. This was such a marked response it was no long before I wanted to purchase a unit of my own to use a home. The medications that had been prescribed for anxiety and depression had not had the same effect that the unit had. Now my Alpha-Stim SCS unit is kept at my bedside and every morning before I get up I use it on the 20-minute setting. Then, when I get ready for the day I do so feeling both calm and energized. I’m ready.

Most recently this little unit really “showed its stuff” when I found myself in a situation where I was working very long hours and was becoming rather overwhelmed by the amount of time I was putting in at work and then after work needing to put in an additional three hours on a short-term project. After just a week and a half of this I was feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and fatigued. Even though I knew this was just a limited-term situation I was not sure I was going to be able to keep my commitment. Then, after being reminded by my spouse how much better I felt using my Alpha-Stim unit, we decided to see it could help bridge the time between work and project. I started coming home from work, using the unit for a 20-minute period of time along with a “power nap”, after which I was able to get back to the task at hand feeling calm and energized. This worked so well I was easily able to keep my commitment and finish the task at hand.

This therapy is so effective I look forward to a reduction—if not discontinuation—of the medications that I have been taking in an effort to achieve these same results.

I am really very happy to have found a non-medication solution to some very difficult medical problems. This little unit helps put the rainbow back into my sky

About a year ago I was in a terrible auto accident. After leaving the hospital I received Alpha Stim treatments for several months from my family physician. It helped me tremendously in the healing process of both the physical and mental state I was in.

Applying the clip pads to my ear lobes and taking hour long sessions greatly eased the trauma and anxiety from the auto accident. Using the pads and probes aided in the pain from my broken hand and foot and enhanced the healing process. Since then, I have received an Alpha Stim 100 as a gift. I enjoy using it daily due to its flexibility and different healing possibilities.

I can't begin to tell you what a difference the Alpha-Stim has made in my life! I have had a panic/anxiety disorder for about 8 years. Therapy and medications helped but it wasn't until the stimulator that I finally feel under control. I am a nurse and often wasn't able to take my meds because I was on call. With the stim, I don't need to take extra medications. I have been using the Alpha-Stim consistently since January. It's the end of March and I have only had ONE panic attack! I very rarely need extra medication. I am sleeping better at night and feel "more even" throughout the day. My therapist noticed a difference right away. The Alpha-Stim has been my "miracle". Thanks to Dr. Avery and to you for all your help and support! I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from anxiety and I have!

Life can be Brutal...Why Suffer? No truer words can be said!!
I suffer from fibromyalgia and with the use of this machine I now sleep again at night without the use of medication.

My husband who suffers from cancer also uses this machine and is able to relax during his treatments, and sleep much better. This machine is a God-send.

I just wanted to give you an update on my use of the Alpha-Stim, which I got from you last October.

I’d been suffering from PTSD since the Pentagon attack on September 11th, 2001. When the sniper attacks in the area started up, it sent my PTSD symptoms through the roof. My anxiety, depression and insomnia, which were intermittent since the Pentagon attack, made it extremely difficult to function and it got to a point where I almost settled for prescription drugs to help control the symptoms.

I had first read about the Alpha-Stim in an online athletic magazine called “Testosterone.” The article was titled “The Microcurrent Revolution” by Chris Shugart, and gave a basic overview of the Alpha-Stim and its applications towards athleticism and mental well-being. After corresponding with Mr. Shugart for more details, I decided to give the Alpha-Stim a try.

Even though I had read several online studies of the Alpha-Stim and its effects, I was surprised about how much better I felt after only using the Alpha-Stim for almost an hour and a half. Before I came into your office, I was tired from lack of sleep and stressed. After the session, I felt relaxed, energized, and my stressful thoughts were much more manageable.

I used the Alpha-Stim daily for 2 weeks, at first for an hour, then was able to cut back on the amount of time during the week as well as for each Alpha-Stim session. I noticed that with each session, my stress levels would go down and I’d feel “normal.”

I’ve also noticed the recovery time from any anxiety/depression I have is faster, and my thinking has become much clearer, like the cobwebs have been cleared out.

My son is almost 2 years old and we have been seeing a Physical Therapist and Speech Pathologist each 1x week for the past year to work on his Sensory Integration Disorder and Defensive Eating. He is still completely nurtured by formula through the bottle ONLY. Gags if anything solid gets in his mouth. That was until his PT tried Alpha Stim 100 and he has started eating and his Sensory issues have become less of an issue!

We have only had one session using the Alpha Stim 100 and I am amazed at the results I have already seen! Unfortunately, my insurance company is fighting claims- they believe our sessions are no longer a "medically necessity". So I am looking to purchase an Alpha Stim 100. I want to thank you so much for this Alpha-Stim you’re sending and for allowing me take part in this program with Delinda. I know the machine has helped me so much with my pain that I thought maybe if you could introduce it to the M.S. Society and people with Fibromyalgia. Both diseases have pain, anxiety problems and one wakes up one day and finds we are filling our cabinets with pain, sleeping and anti-depressants, in short becoming a drug store junky! I know I was unaware of the Alpha Stim until the doctor in Utah had introduced it to me for pain management. I'm sure the M.S. Society would introduce it to their members. They are always having seminars and such. And looking for new ways of doing things, I guess I'm asking if you have contacted them? True, this hasn't cured me but it never claimed to cure, just help and it has helped. It has relieved so much of my pain that I've told everyone I know about it. I would like to thank you for the positive transformation of my health...both mental and physical.

The Alpha-Stim created such a feeling of well-being that I was able to gradually wean off a highly addictive anti-anxiety medication (Adivan), which I had unsuccessfully tried to get off of for over a year.

However, when I then tried to stop taking the anti-depressant (Paxil), my sugar cravings were so uncontrollable, that I stayed on the Paxil as an appetite-depressant, even though the Alpha-Stim was alleviating my depression.

After receiving the diagnosis of systematic Candida, I religiously followed your anti-yeast nutritional plan. After one month, I am now completely weaned off of the Paxil!

When I experienced cravings for sweets and starches last week, I tried going off of the diet for two days, but felt so miserable, that I realized how vitally crucial and healing this program is. I now see that even after getting rid of the yeast, the cravings for sweets can be psychological memories of comfort. How much more nurturing is it to treat myself to a session of Alpha-Stim rather that re-abuse my digestive tract with unhealthy "treats". I now have the empowerment to resist my conditioning to indulge in rich foods as an escape!

I feel so much better on this food plan, that I believe I will follow this for the rest of my life. Well...maybe I'll add potatoes and pickles back in...and occasional rice crackers...but we'll see. I'd rather live without my addictions then go back to the horrible side-effects of puffy eyes, bloating, sluggishness, unwanted weight gain, and depression.

Frustrated? It is likely that you will notice improvements while using the Alpha-Stim. Nothing else has worked for me before. I have tried relaxation techniques, but my anxiety was so intense it did little. I have been on many medications, including popular ones such as Prozac, Paxil, Effexor, and Luvox. With any of the given medications, I either noticed zero improvements or became worse. I went to a therapist and that was just a waste of money. I say that if the Alpha-Stim can help me, it can help you. It’s good to be skeptical, but always remember that if all else fails, you still have another shot with the Alpha-Stim. Good luck!

The Alpha-Stim is not expensive. Sure, its $800 but that is nothing compared to three years of weekly bills to my psychiatrist and countless medication fees. And guess what? I no longer see my psychiatrist. I no longer take any medication. When I started using the Alpha-Stim I would still have periods of anxiety/depression but after a couple of months these periods became less and less frequent. Get a doctor's prescription and spend the $800. The quality of your life is worth it. Also, thanks Chris for including the Alpha-Stim in the Stuff We Like article. Had you not I would still be suffering to this day. I owe you man!

I just wanted to send a thank you for this wonderful product. My son has pretty bad ADD and he was floundering in school. He had repeated first grade and was now in second and was struggling. I did not want to put him on chemical medications as I believe they do more harm than good. I wanted more than a band aid, I wanted a cure. I myself had been through a similar biofeedback program and am still financially indebted for it. When I was introduced to the Alpha Stim I tried it for a while to see if it was any good. Well to my surprise it helped my on my focus and also helped me manage my pain for my Fibromyalgia. So I purchased it and have used it on my son. The teachers, my family and all that knew my son were amazed. He was able to pay attention and get his work done. He came out of his shell.

It was a miraculous intervention. We had prayed for so long for an answer that we could afford. And it came in this product. My son in still doing incredible and growing all the time. He has popped out of his shell and his self esteem has skyrocketed. We had this term that we used when he wasn't doing well, it was called "zoning out". Which in essence what was happening. I am writing concerning your Alpha-Stim 100. As you know, I have been receiving acupuncture treatments since April for chronic pain. I have been in constant chronic pain for almost four years and I have found some relief with acupuncture.

I began using your Alpha-Stim 100 in July. I use the probes for “on the spot” treatment, especially when I must sit for long periods of time. Both treatments are giving me days without pain. I feel that with more treatments I will eventually become pain free and will, in time, require less and less treatments. The people that I am working with assure me that this is an excellent possibility.

I also have found another use for your product. Because of my injury I also have brain damage, which causes frequent panic attacks. I have found that using the Alpha-Stim 100 helps to calm me down.

I bought an Alpha-Stim 100 to use on my dog Sara. She is a five year old toy poodle and had a bad vertebra in her back which kept her in a lot of pain.

We have used the Alpha-Stim on her for about six weeks and find that she has had marked improvement (75-99%). It is the most effective treatment we have had for her pain and anxiety. But most surprisingly, since we have been using the Alpha-Stim on Sara she has not had a seizure. Before starting the use of the Alpha-Stim, Sara had on the average of one seizure a week. We are hoping to completely get her off the phenobarbital. We purchased the machine because of her back problem, but it has also stopped the seizures.

Sara is more relaxed now, and does not get as excited as she used to!

I am delighted with my Alpha-Stim. I suffered from high anxiety and severe panic attacks lasting anything from 2-24 hours. Conventional medication gave me extremely debillitating side effects. Stress counselling only helped to a small degree.

Within a few days of receiving my Alpha-Stim its calming effects began to take effect. Now three months later my panic attacks have disappeared and my anxiety is minimal.

I visited the website for Alpha Stim and read customer testimonials. One is from Linda King in University City, MO regarding her Greyhound, Jake. She apparently is a client of yours. After I read it, I began using the Alpha Stim on MY Jake twice daily, 20 minutes each. This was during Thanksgiving break and after I returned to work I was unable to do it twice a day so I began using it on him one hour a day on a level four. He tolerates it very well -- he sighs deeply and relaxes, usually sleeping the entire time. I have noticed his mobility has increased. He trots and runs more than he has in recent months. Another thing - I realized that Linda King, the writer of the customer testimonial, is the wife of a fellow I work with and I asked him how the 12-year old Greyhound is doing. He told me the dog is now 13 and his wife attributes the dog's longevity and mobility to the Alpha Stim. I'm thinking since it also helps my dog's mobility, he will be more active and therefore maintain his muscle mass and THAT will assist in keeping his weight at the proper level and keeping him in good physical shape. I'm so thankful for the Alpha Stim. One last thing - I used to be plagued with chronic white spots on my tonsils. I would be fatigued and drag myself around, half sick. I tried everything to get rid of them. Since I've been using the Alpha Stim on myself, the white spots have disappeared. I don't know if the current runs through that area and clears them out or if they were stress related and THAT has caused them to cease. I'm just thrilled to not have to worry about them anymore. My 12 year old greyhound, Jake, had been experiencing some rear-end/back leg difficulties. His legs would sort of fold in while walking in the back yard or around the block on leash. He also began hesitating using the flight of stairs up to the bedroom and would pace a lot before going up. Sometimes he would have a lot of trouble just getting up the stairs or coming down.

After a few months of trying supplements and acupuncture to help alleviate this problem, I went to consult with Dr. Ava Frick at Animal Fitness Center. She prescribed Alpha-Stim to us after making some chiropractic adjustments and readjusting our supplement routine. Within one week, while using the Alpha-Stim probes and ear clips twice daily, I noticed significant improvements. Jake began to strengthen in the rear legs and hesitate less in front of the steps. After the 2nd-3rd weeks, Jake began to jump up on our beds again and also get down and then back up again, which he hadn't done for quite some time. Into the 4th week, Jake had continued to strengthen and maintain the advances he achieved.

I am loaning the Alpha-Stim to my parents at the moment whose dog had surgery. I look forward to getting him back on the Alpha-Stim therapy to continue to strengthen his legs and ease his pain. It's incredible what this therapy has been able to do.

It is great that you have opened up the field of animal pain management through your magazine. This has certainly been an area previously overlooked in veterinary care. In reviewing this issue I found ten articles concerning this topic in which the bottom line for all except one (acupuncture) revolved around the use of chemical drugs.

At my practice, Animal Fitness Center, P.C., the slogan is; “Eliminating pain is what we do best!” I am AVCA certified in animal chiropractic and with that have focused the past 5 years in rehabilitation and pain management.

There is technology available that would apply to every pain article plus “Anxious Pet May Need Drug Therapy” as well and it is drug free. I have a holistic small animal practice in San Diego, California. I am also a licensed human acupuncturist. I have been using the Alpha-Stim for five years in animals and humans for all manner of conditions from frozen shoulders, to all manner of pain, and behavioral problems. In my human patients I have never failed to achieve immediate significant pain relief in the first treatment (I know because they tell me so) That means 75 to 100% pain relief right now - 100% in toothaches in the first treatment. I use the probes for pain control in dogs and cats with very definite success too, followed by CES for 20 minutes. I use the CES ear clips for calming anxious cats, especially those with cystitis, and to stop dogs from chewing at lick granulomas. CES works great to stop feather picking in birds by applying the probes to the area of ear canals for about 2-3 minutes. I couldn't think of practicing without an Alpha-Stim.
